Enjoy a Cooking Class with fellow OLT member and Master Chef, Scott Sharot, in the OLT pavilion at Valley View on Saturday Oct 11th at 12:30 pm. The cost is $25 and will benefit OLT's new Waste Water Treatment Plant upgrades. Chef Sharot will lead participants in a cooking demo of several delicious lunch dishes which they will get to enjoy and take home recipes from afterwards, along with time and health-saving savory cooking tips. The menu will feature Eggplant Caponata--Southern Italian eggplant appetizer with capers and olives, Caesar salad, Artichoke and Wild Mushroom Lasagna with three Cheeses (Vegan gluten free available on request) and Almond wedding cookies with Grand Marnier.
Scott Sharot has had a 35 year love affair with food--as a chef, caterer and restaurateur. He was owner of One World Cafe (vegan) in Miami and Hummingbird Cafe in New Mexico and has served as a consultant to various restaurants, among them Marcella's, Village Green, Bailiwick in NYC, Ocean Club and Cafe Kolibri in Miami. Also a food writer, he has penned the book, "New Mexico Chow Restaurants for the Rest of Us" published by Intrepid Traveler and served as a staff writer for Weekly Alibi, La Cocinita, and Albuquerque The Magazine. Scott has also taught cooking at the Learning Annex NYC, Miami Dade Community College's Environmental Center vegan program and Fairchild Tropical Garden in Miami, as well as in New Mexico at Ta Lin International Market, Jane Butel Cooking School and La Montanita Co-op.
